Meet the Team

Blair J. Garner, CFA, CFP

Blair is an investment advisor and owner of Garner Financial Management. Blair received an M.S. with honors in Financial Analysis and Investment Management from St. Mary’s College of California. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst®(CFA) and Certified Financial Planner®(CFP) designations. 

Prior to joining the firm, Blair served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps for over a decade. 

When not at the office, Blair enjoys spending time with his wife and three children and when time allows he enjoys restoring classic cars. Additionally, Blair continues to serve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserve

Amy A. Cooke, MBA

Amy is a Registered Paraplanner℠, receiving her designation from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.  Prior to joining GFM, she worked in banking and financial services for many years as a credit and enterprise risk management professional.  Amy received her BS in Finance from Rutgers University and her MBA, with a concentration in Management Information Systems, from Seton Hall University.

In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and son.  She also enjoys running, biking and skiing.

Christina R. T. Garner

Christina was a Registered Paraplanner℠ and a National Social Security Advisor®  and now focuses on the administrative side of the business. Prior to joining GFM she was in hospitality management and an educator.  Christina received her Bachelor of Arts from California State University, San Marcos. 

During her time away from the office, Christina enjoys spending time with her husband and keeping up with her three children.  Additionally, she enjoys running, and cooking.

Robert J. Garner

Rob is the founder of Garner Financial Management and continues to serve as part-time business consultant. After a successful career in the container leasing industry, Rob decided to follow his passion and embarked on a second career in investment management. Rob actively managed client assets for over 23 years.

Rob has volunteered his time at numerous community and professional organizations over the years, to include serving as a Board Trustee and Chairman of the Investment Committee for the Alta Bates Summit Hospital Foundation, City Treasurer for the City of Orinda from 2000-2009 and President of the NAPFA West Region Board of Directors.

Rob enjoys spending time with his wife, their two children and five grandchildren. He also enjoys jogging, playing golf and collecting wine.
